Question:
I have a presentation tomorrow and I'm so nervous! Any tips, motivative words to help me out/cheer me up?

I'm the third person to present tomorrow and I'm so nervous! I'm terrible.

My face goes red, I can feel my face burning, which makes my throat suddenly go dry and raspy and so I have to talk more quietly so keep whatever smoothness and moisture in my voice/mouth I have left. When I try to talk louder (counts for marks), it just sounds really bad so my face gets redder from embarrassment. Then the longer I’m up there and feel my face getting hotter, my eyes start to water and then OH it’s so embarrassing!

Plus, multi-tasking: breathing while talking, while focusing to not focus on the eyes starring at you, focusing to remember to make eye contact, thinking if you're doing good at the moment, trying to make sure the words don't go all blurry on me, trying to prevent my face from going any redder. And don’t forget the looks of pity on everyone’s face for you when you’re done presenting.

And the two people that will present before me, I don't want to use the word dumb since it's a mean word, but that's probably the nicest word to use. Their project will probably be incomplete tomorrow so there's a big chance that I'll go first!

Just relax and you'll do fine. The more you stress over this, the worse you will do. If you think positive and tell yourself it's no big deal, then you'll do fine. Public speaking is scary, but just have confidence in yourself and it's fine. Even if you do mess up a little, it's not like anyone will remember by the end of the day! Good Luck, you can do it!!

Well, here's an upside to their stupidity: you will look like a genius when you go up, and everyone will be excited that someone intelligent is going to speak. Also, keep in mind that at least 3/4 of the people in the room are just as scared.

Try to be prepared. Practice a lot so that you don't freeze up too much. I'm a terrible speaker, too. I've almost fainted in front of a class before, LOL. Just stay calm. By tomorow night, it will be behind you. It's not a significant event, so it's not big deal, right??

Breathe deeply before you go up. Look over your information so you know what you're talking about. When you're up, look for someone in your class that you're really good friends with and look up at them. Pretend it's more like you're talking to your friend than making an oral report. Drink a lot of water. If your voice gets raspy, that's okay. Cough it up, I'm sure you won't get in trouble for that or anything. But don't be embarrassed because it's not like people are REALLY paying attention to you anyways. The only reason you have to be nervous is your judgment on yourself.

Listen, I'm actually a very good speaker infront of people. Just put yourself in your audiences shoes, whether its a large crowd, or a small classroom. Honestly, just think about it. If you were sitting down in your class with 20 people, and someone else went up to present in your class, would you stare at them and think of everything possible you can that they did wrong? Or is it just another kid making another presentation. Try and relax it's really not a big deal. And don't try to look cool or anything, do your presentation so you get a good grade. Good luck!

A bit of advice I told someone looking nervous about to give a best man's speech was that me and everyone admire him for having the courage. Everyone there will know what you're going through so try and treat it like you're in a group and you're telling your mates something awsome. We're all behind you anyway, hope it goes ok :)
