People often get heart attacks and live long and productive lives. In fact, ex-Vice President Dick Cheney had a mild heart attack this year and is fine. Heart attacks can cause some damage, but mild one usually don't.

Your grandma can do a few things to reduce her chances of having another heart attack, like taking an asprin every day, eating right, doing mild exercise like walking to condition her heart and avoiding sudden exertion (lots of movement). Her doctors will give her plenty of advice and good medicine as well.

However, you do need to start thinking about your grandmother's death. It will be much worse later if you don't start allowing yourself to think about it now. It sounds like she is a really wonderful lady, and she had probably lived a long and full life, especially with someone like you around to appreciate her. Because she is so wonderful and you love her so much, you don't want her to become old and disabled and in pain, barely alive. One of the best ends to a great life is a good death without prolonged suffering. Wish that for her after wishing for more great years together.

No one can predict the future. Your grandma will get wonderful treatment. She may need surgery and she will have to be very careful about diet and exercise in the future. The treatments for heart attack victims are very successful. Just be brave and happy around her.

dont worry she should be fine and if there is a problem they can fix it... just help her when she gets back. wait on her, cook for her, clean for her , get stuff for her. just let her relax and recover...keep her company.
