The iodine injection may hurt a little, like any other injection. It also may burn as the iodine spreads, but not badly. As for the scan itself it is merely a complicated x-ray. No pain. Just sit or lie still. I pray that your problem will be an easy fix and that you have many more years with family and friends. God Bless You

You lie on a bed and the ct scan x-ray around your head take about 2-3 minutes to get the image of your brain. It does not hurt at all and you will not feel anything. When they inject iodine, there is a pock of a needle like a blood draw. sometimes you may feel flushed when the iodine is injected and some people might be allergic to it. But this is that is done every day on thousands and thousands of people without any major problem.

A CT scan (pronounced CAT scan) stands for Computer Topography and it it is a series of X-rays that are taken from differnet angles and digitally loaded into a compter to generate a three dimensional image.
It is nothing to worry about and besides the needle going in which will feel like a sharp pinch if you feel anything at all, it should be a painless proceedure. Just remember to stay still while the x-rays are being taken.

I has a CT scan but I didn't get injected with iodine. Or maybe I did but didn't notice?
Maybe that's how much the injection is! LOL!
