Why do I always get a horrible stomach ache after eating beef? Lately everytime I have either hamburger or steak for dinner I get a very sharp pain in the middle of my stomach that lasts for hours. I stopped eating beef altogether & the stomach ache has stopped. I have spoken to my family doctor about this issue & they have done blood work and nothing was wrong. Cholesterol was fine, blood pressure was fine, glucose was in good condition. What could it be?

Beef is actually the worst meat for digestion. It take's almost 3 times as long to digest as other "light" meats like chicken and fish. It can cause extreme stomach aches in people with sensitive stomachs. I suggest you try to stay away for red meat as much as possible.

possible achlorhydria. beef is one of the hardest things to digest, and if there isn't sufficient hcl, you'll have problems eating it. see an hio method chiropractor. betaine hydrochloride supplements may help, but you need to correct whatever nerve interference problem is present.
