K I think that you should take your son to the emergency center. Just to be sure. They might have to put staples in his head. I'm worried that it could get an infection. For the time being get a wash cloth/towel feel it with ice and put it on his head. i'm sure your in such a difficult financial situation. When you go explain this to the doctor and see if they could work out a plan. It's probably going to be expensive, but in the long run if it gets an infection or worsens atleast you'll be safe.

If its not "that deep", how is it cracked open? If it really is just a cut, and you can clean it up with peroxide and he seems happy and normal, dont freak out so much, but if its as bad as you seem to think, take him to the ER!!! ASAP!!!

How old are you? Any responsible adult would take their kid to the ER even if they didnt think they could pay the bill immediately. Hospitals have ways to help you (payment plans), and your childs health and life is more important than anything else.

Well, I hope you can't see his brain! What in the world are you doing on the computer when your five year old has a gash on his head?

Take him to the ER now. If he broke his leg, would you not take him to the ER because you have no medicaid?

Head wounds need to be xrayed. All sorts of complications can arise from them.

if you actually care for your son you wo'nt worry about the bill and you will make sure he is ok
