I am enlisting in the Air Force and I tried marijuana for the first time every 3 days ago (yes i know stupid mistake) and I was wondering how long should I wait to sign up for my MEPS, also I have been exposed to second hand marijuana smoke for a while now, being that all my friends smoke and it's always in small enclosed areas so i'm exposed to a lot of smoke, will that show up on the drug test?

Wow, don't let these people scare you... Marijuana stays in your system 30 days tops for a urinalysis. The military doesn't test hair at MEPS.. trust me it's urine and even once you're in the do urine tests. Marijuana stays in my system about 3-14 days but as ex military i'm still in rather good shape and weigh a solid 160 lbs. Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) sticks to fatty cells in your body therefore if you have a higher percentage of body fat you may have a higher difficulty getting it out of your system fast. 30 Days is complete guarantee you will be fine regardless of your body weight if you stay away from pot from here on out. Drink plenty of water, there are also OTC pills to cause more frequent urination that are completely safe to help you pee out the toxins faster. But still just wait a month, stop getting high and you will be fine. Military drug tests are very cheap and i doubt they will ever use hair tests unless they suspect you are doing something to bypass the tests.. edit: the hair test is impossible for recruiters to use anyway because it will show trace amounts regardless unless you have absolutely no hair on your body and trust me, they want to recruit more people. Hell I failed a drug test going in and got accepted two years later into the same branch lol.

My judge told me that traditional knowledge says up to one month, but they also said that no one has ever tested positive more than 15 days after using marijuana.

Second hand marijuana smoke will NOT show up on a drug test, but try to stay away from it anyway.

I could be wrong with this but to the best of my knowledge its 4-8 hours for a saliva test, 1-2 weeks for a blood test and 1-2 months before its out of your system completely. Apparently it stays in your hair forever so might want to get rid of that too. Do NOT trust this info if your going for a job in the services. I suggest going to see your doctor and get the all clear before your offical test. Good luck.

About a month. It really depends on how fat you are. TCP the active ingredient in pot is stored in fat. So the fatter you are the longer it stays in you.
