will this make it basically a 5mg tablet? i was prescrbed 10 mg and i am 17 its for depression and anxiety. they gave me 10 mg and i thought it was a little much so if i cut the pill in half will it be a 5mg pill then?

If the pill is "scored" than you can technically cut it in half and get a true half dose. If there is no line down the center of it, then no, you can't be sure you are getting a true half dose. Either way with these drugs you should really speak to your psychiatrist before decreasing your dose. I just had to talk to mine and they are never very receptive to the idea, but just remember, it is YOUR health and YOUR body. Stand up for yourself if you truly believe you are being overmedicated. you should definitally talk to you psychologist about this problem, what i would suggest though is dont do anything till you talk to you psychologst just because you could kinda peeve him off if you start disobeying his instructions about medcation especially the type your on. Your psychologist is trained to know what is a healthy dose for someone your size and weight, thus his opinion should be held in high regard on this.
Now if you really want to reduce your dose because you are feeling side effects from your medication, go in with a list of the symptoms you are feeling this will help you when you talk to him, also talk to him seriously about this tell him you feel as though ur losing some of your abilities to this drug id stress that if thats the case. It should also be taken into consideration though that im guessing this is probably a new perscription remember you will eventually gain a tollerance to this drug you may want to try it out for a month or so before changing anything. I am assuming by a month maybe even a few weeks the side effects will become less sever and easier to deal with. Just be patient.
