Blotchy, red, itchy, possibly bug bites?

I've just noticed that there's blotchy redness going up both of my arms and on my shoulder and it's itchy.. what could this possibly be? bug bites? i know it's not from bed bugs, because these aren't bumps they sort of look like rashes, but i'm not sure.. HELP please.

I have had the same thing ! took about 3 weeks to get over it ! Might of been Hives, allergic to something. I thought it might of been Bed Bugs? because we travel alot and stay in motels.When you scratch it leave blotches and itches. I had to take a shower in the middle of the night, to help control the itching. Must be some sort of virus going around, alot of people have had the same problem. There is also a cream ? from the drug store that may help ! Someone told be a asprin mixed with water my help. Also if you are over 65 get a shingle shot. After 3 weeks I feel great all the itching is gone . Portland Oregon

It could be an allergic reaction, I'd get some Benadryl and call the doctor.
