No. When you get blood drawn, it doesn't touch air, yet it is red when it goes into the vial.
Blood is always red, but it changes color slightly depending on whether it is coming from your heart bringing oxygen to the rest of your body or coming back to your heart from the rest of your body to get more oxygen. Blood in your arteries is bright red because it has oxygen in it and is carrying the oxygen out from the heart. Blood in your veins, which is deoxygenated, is darker red (almost purple/maroon) and looks blue through the skin.

Yes, our blood is the color blue inside our bodies. Once it hits the air or oxygen then it turns red. Don't you see blue vains when you turn your rist over but when you get a cut and bleed your blood comes out red. Tada!!!

Blood which has just been exposed to the air in your lungs will be red. It turns blue as it circulates back and looses oxygen. So, I guess the answer is, it depends.

it's not really blue, kind of a dark dark red, almost black. You see blue veins because of the skin over your veins.
Blood with oxygen in it is bright red.

Yes, that's correct. The iron in your blood is what makes the red color. The oxygen molecules bond with the iron in your blood, which makes Iron Oxide A.K.A. rust.

Actually it is more of a purplish-red, but the veins appear blue looking through the skin. So 'blue blood'.

Oxygenated blood appears red, so arteries tend to be redder in tone (carrying oxygen out from the heart/lungs) while veins are bluer (carrying the oxygen-depleted blood and waste products back from the extremities to be cleansed and re-oxygenated).

NO. If you have had your it was sucked into a vacuum. Air does not touch it look to see what color it is. It is generally dark red.

actually....de-oxygenated blood is blue (blood that is going to the heart) and oxygenated blood is bright red.... it depends were you get cut and if the the blood is de-oxygenated or not.... thats why sometimes when you get cut the blood that comes out is bright red and in other ocations its a darker blueish color

Nope.... it becomes red when the hemoglobin mixes with it.... the hemoglobin gives the color.... and the appearance or the color of the blood is affected if its oxygenated or de-oxygenated
oxygenated; bright red
deoxygenated; looks like maroon
