Please don't leave answers that don't help or answers that say "Weed is bad, etc" I'm aware of what marijuana does to you, I don't need another echo telling me what to do.

I have never tried it but maybe they sold you oregano mostly. It is not like you can sue them.

Well, the first couple times, you don't get high, but by the 4th time, you should. Are you inhaling correctly? Inhale untill you cough, and then hold it in for as long as you can. That way, it can get into your blood stream better. How much did you smoke? Maybe you got some really bad weed. Some weed takes 2 hits, some take 7-8. Just make sure that you are inhaling it correctly, try to blow it out of your nose. If smoke comes out, then you are doing it right.

you probably arent inhaling it right.

its different than smoking a cigarette .. you have to take long hits and hold it in for a little bit, exhale slow. weed is NOT addictive you dont get hooked.

and it actually really has no bad effects on the body.

ive smoked it a few times and only got high once .. are you smoking it from a blunt? because if you are and youre not getting high try smoking it from a bong .. that was the only why i got high .. i think through a bong it was easier for me to inhale more than through a blunt.

edit -- smoking it through a pencap? i've heard alot of ways to smoke it but ive never heard that way .. maybe your method is flawed, try it some other why, that could also be part of your problem.

Why do you people continue saying that weed isn't addictive at all? You do realize you're wrong... right? Just like any other foreign (and sometimes not) chemical being introduced - your body becomes used to it then eventually requires it. Is smoking weed an extremely hard habit to break? For most it isn't, but don't say it isn't "addictive" or that you "can't get hooked" when in reality you can.

If you're going to smoke, I suggest smoking through a bong as water filters out most of the chemicals you don't want.

I'm also for legalizing marijuana.

It could be one of many reasons, or a combination of thereof. For instance, many times people say you're not smoking it right. This could be true, but it could also be your biochemistry coming into play. I've smoked weed before, and I think I've only been high once or twice, and never enjoyed it. It's just not my thing. Also, I don't feel different on prescription narcotics and painkillers. But, I don't normally abuse those drugs although I seem to have access to prescription narcotics often times, like a codine cough syrup!

However, size, height, metabolism, body fat percentage, etc also should be taken into account. But, the chemicals in your brain also play a very huge role as you might not be wired to enjoy depressants.

Also, Cannabis species also factor in. Most people are ignorant of this fact, but narrowed-leaf Cannabis sativa (native to the Indian subcontinent) has high amounts of THC and is the chemical that gives you the "high" affect when using marijuana. However, wide-leaf Cannabis indica (commonly referred to as hashish or hash) contains higher amounts of CBD and tends to give users more of a "stoned" affect as oppossed to "high".

Many people grow hybrids of the two species to mix the affects, but CBD actually can cancel out the affects THC. So, even if you smoke it right, mixing hash with weed will neutralize the affects.

Yet, hash isn't that popular here in this country and is more so in the Eastern hempisphere. However, I've heard people refer to resin as hash before, but that would be a misnomer. Hash is straight up a smokable drug like marijuana, but is a different species of Cannabis.

NOTE: Marinol (aka dronabinol) is a prescription form of THC. You can actually get it from your local pharmacy with a prescription from your doctor. Sativex (mouth spray) is also another medical variant of marijuana. They contain the same active ingredients as marijuana but contain none of the toxins.

As for info about marijuana's effects. Marijuana inducing psychosis is actually a fairly recent scientific find. Check out this CNN article obtained from the Associated Press in London.

NOTE: Marijuana IS addicting. Marijuana is a narcotic, meaning it causes sedation, induce sleep and relieves pain. Thus, due to it's physical affects which are felt in the body, Cannabis sativa can IN FACT cause physical dependency.

I have an article from the United States National Academy of Sciences. It explains in detail the health risks of marijuana.

I agree with most of these people, probably not inhaling right.

U know what they say, practice makes perfect :)

it could have either been fake, however if it was weak and you had never smoked before you still would have gotten a high from it.. my guess is that you didn't inhale it properly.

I've smoked quite a few times, and I've never felt much of anything. I once decided to smoke A LOT to see if it would do anything more, and it just made me nauseous. It just doesn't do much for some people. My suggestion? Stick to alcohol. It's cheaper and much less illegal.

take the puff and take some air in with the puff

in response to PRINCESS DI, you can't literally get "hooked on weed".

it is not addictive, and contains nothing addictive like nicotine.

so if you "got hooked" it would all be in your head.
